Since becoming involved in Los Cabos real estate, it absolutely amazes me that there aren't more people adding real estate to their investment portfolios! Like most, many of my friends and family had been dutifully stashing away every penny into RRSP or 401K mutual fund accounts. The sad part of it is, according to CNN Money, the absolute best case scenario has their top pics averaging a return of 12%. Now if 12% is good enough for you, then hey, by all means keep doing what your doing. I sincerely hope that you end up picking the BEST investments EVERY year so that you can reap that whopping 12% return per year!
On the other hand, even the most conservative of real estate parcels in Cabo San Lucas have returned over 25% PER YEAR over the last 10 years! Local and international experts predict the local market will continue this pace for at least the next 10-15 years. All the while, there are new markets opening up in Southern Baja (see my post on Bahia Concepcion) EVERY YEAR!
One of my clients, who recently purchased yet another parcel of land just outside of Cabo, said to me: "Stocks crash, cash devaluates, and inflation continues to rob us all... but Baja real estate remains the constant - ALWAYS appreciating".
